Asphalt Sealcoating in New Hampshire
PROTECTIVE SEAL · UV & WATER RESISTANT · EXTENDS PAVEMENT LIFE

Asphalt Sealcoating

A protective seal over cured asphalt that shields it from water, UV, and road salt — and brings back that rich, deep-black finish.

Sealcoating is the maintenance step that protects the investment you made in your asphalt. Over time, sun, water, and New Hampshire road salt dry out and break down the surface. A sealcoat lays down a protective layer that resists those elements, helps keep water out of small cracks, and restores the dark, uniform look of new pavement.

Timing matters. New asphalt needs to cure before its first seal, and sealcoating works best as part of a regular cycle rather than a one-time fix. It's not a repair — it won't fix structural cracks or a failing base — but on sound pavement it's one of the most cost-effective things you can do to stretch the life of a driveway or lot.

What's included

    • Check that the surface is cured and suitable for sealing
    • Cleaning so the sealer bonds to clean asphalt
    • Crack cleaning and treatment before sealing
    • Even application of protective sealcoat
    • Clean edges along lawns, garages, and walkways
    • Guidance on cure time before you use the surface

How we approach it

Every asphalt sealcoating job follows the same fundamentals — assess honestly, prep the base, and finish with attention to drainage and edges. Here's the sequence from first call to final walkthrough:

Our process

Start to finish

Free on-site estimate

We visit your property, measure the area, talk through drainage and how you use the space, then send a clear written quote. No pressure and no surprise add-ons later.

Excavate & grade

We remove the old surface or sod, then cut and shape the sub-grade so water sheds away from your home and garage instead of pooling on the pavement.

Base & compaction

A crushed gravel base is brought to depth and compacted in lifts. A solid, well-drained base is what keeps New Hampshire frost from heaving the asphalt later.

Pave & roll

Hot-mix asphalt is laid with a paver and compacted with a roller while it's hot, building a smooth, tightly knit mat at the right depth for the job.

Final walkthrough

We clean up, check the edges and slope with you, and explain how to care for fresh asphalt through its first season so the surface cures hard and even.

Asphalt Sealcoating questions

How soon can I seal a brand-new driveway?

New asphalt needs time to cure before its first sealcoat — generally a number of months, not weeks. Sealing too early traps the curing process. We'll tell you when your new surface is ready.

How often should asphalt be sealcoated?

On a regular cycle rather than constantly. Over-sealing can build up and flake. We'll suggest a sensible interval for your surface based on its condition and how much traffic and weather it takes.

Will sealcoating fix the cracks in my driveway?

Sealcoating protects sound asphalt and helps keep water out of minor cracks, but it isn't a structural repair. Real cracks and potholes need patching or crack treatment first — then sealing helps protect the result.
